Do you know that Highland Park has an endowment fund? The Highland Park endowment fund was established a few years ago with a generous donation in honor of the school’s 50th anniversary. Since then it has grown through smaller donations and special gifts from HP families. The endowment is managed by the Austin Community Foundation, which manages endowment funds for a number of other schools in AISD. Each year the revenue from our fund helps support excellence in education initiatives and programs. Last year the fund helped purchase much needed reference books geared toward improving writing skills for 4th and 5th graders.
Help us grow the school’s endowment so that Highland Park can continue to fund enrichment activities benefitting both teachers and students. The larger the fund grows the more Highland Park can support exciting new programs for our school community. The holiday season is a perfect time to make a donation! All gifts to the Highland Park Endowment are 100% tax deductible. They can be made in honor of your child, your child’s teacher, in memory of a loved one, or anyone else you wish to recognize. It is now easier than ever to make a donation online through the Austin Community Foundation by going to http://www.austincommunityfoundation.org/?nd=donate. Alternately, donations can be made by writing a check written to the Highland Park Endowment. Checks should be sent to the PTA either through your child’s teacher or through the mail. The PTA will send you an acknowledgement letter and a letter to the person you are honoring to let know that a gift has been made. We hope you will all consider giving to Highland Park during this holiday season!

Randall's Remarkable Card
We’ve all heard the expression when something is so lucrative, “it’s like printing money”. That is exactly the effect of designating your Randall’s Remarkable card to 470. This simple procedure results in hundreds of dollars being donated to Highland Park Elementary through the Randall’s/Tom Thumb Good Neighbor Program. You still get all of your Remarkable Card savings too. This is your way of telling Randall’s where to donate its charitable contributions. Since the program was instituted in 1996, Randall’s has donated over $20 million dollars to 7500 charities. Our school is one of these beneficiaries. However, the amount we receive depends upon YOU! If you are unsure whether your card is already designated to Highland Park, simply call the program information line at 888-334-8240. Give them the number off of your remarkable card, and they can tell you if and to what charity your card is linked. Please consider linking all or part of your giving to Highland Park Elementary School, #470. Remember—it’s like printing money for our school!

Lunch Money Payment On-Line - GREAT OPTION!
AISD has partnered with www.mylunchmoney.com to provide an opportunity for families to set up an account to pay for lunch money through the www.mylunchmoney.com website. This is OPTIONAL for families, and there is a required transaction fee of $1.95 each time you make a deposit. Advantages to using this service can include receiving low balance notifications via e-mail when your child's balance drops below $5.00, as well as the option to pay using a credit card. It not only shows you what your child is purchasing, it allows you to make certain items,i.e. ice cream, off limits. You must have your child's student ID on hand when signing up on-line- this number will be sent home with your child during the first week of school. Go to www.mylunchmoney.com to explore the opportunity and/or to sign up.
