What is the HP Community Fund?

HP Community Fund is an annual opportunity for Highland Park families to invest together to provide Scottie Spirit shirts for all students as well as support educational & enrichment programs/events which benefit all our Highland Park Scotties.

Your contribution to our HP Community Fund allows the PTA to:

Gift grade level spirit shirts to all students.
Provide educational and enrichment programs like Science & live Spanish for K-3!
Underwrite the expenses of inclusive events that bring our community together such as incoming kinder days, Back to School Picnic, and our cultural celebration night.
Support self-organized groups like DEI Community Group, Scottie Sprucers, and 5th-grade crossing guards.

Each family who contributes $150 or more to the Community Fund receives:

What are some programs that my Community Fund contribution enables for our Scotties?

Bridges in Mathematics is a research-based, comprehensive K-5 curriculum that focuses on problem-solving and skill-building that helps students develop mathematical thinking.

Spanish is taught by Ms. Hida for our neighborhood Austin School of Languages. Hida brings an immersive dual language program to our K-3 HP Scotties!

HelloWorld Computer Science learning program (3-5) focuses on applied mathematics, simulation, and modeling to solve complex problems.

*NEW* Science Enrichment with Ms. Olson, Veteran HP teacher of 30 years!
Mrs. Olson enjoys instilling her love of science and engineering to students.
The program is built on the Austin ISD Science Year-At-A-Glance curriculum as well as the Texas Science TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). This is a "hands-on" program where the students will actively be participating in science demonstrations and experiments while learning about famous scientists, building their knowledge base and having lots of fun!

Contributions to this program are tax-deductible to the extent permissible by law, and may be eligible for Employer Match Programs. The Highland Park Elementary PTA is a nonprofit unit of Texas PTA, covered by a group tax exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code.
