International Day - Dec. 14, 2018
The International Arts Extravaganza and Potluck is on December 14, 2018 from 5:30pm - 7pm in the Highland Park Elementary Cafeteria.
There will be exciting Holiday performances by the Famous HP Scottie Singers, the Kindergarten Class who will be singing in Spanish and a Martial Arts Demonstration Team for our entertainment. We might even have a Ukulele band show us their stuff! Lots of marvelous art will displayed throughout the halls for your viewing pleasure. And a backdrop for a DIY photo booth too :)
Get your favorite International recipe out! This will also be your opportunity to make your favorite dish or dessert to share from a different culture for everyone to experience tastes from all over the world!!!!

What is Culture?
Anthropologists define "culture" as the sum total of ways of living built up by a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to another. In other words, it's not just your ethnic or religious heritage, or art, or literature. It is all of the parts of the life you lead. When you select items to represent your culture, think about things that are important to you and your family. You might include pictures of ancestors, family recipes, holiday traditions, the words to a song you frequently sing together, a funny saying your family uses a lot, or a picture of an object that has been in your family for generations. Pictures may be copies of photos or downloaded from the internet. Each picture should have the child's name written on the back. Pictures will become part of a display and will not be returned.
